A new era
"Hi Mr. Ingraham!"
"I'm doing great!"
So began the phone conversation my son had with an elderly neighbor who called our house. My son insisted that he talk to the man, so I passed him the phone. They continued...
"I'm 3 right now. I'll be 4 on my next birthday..."
"I'm having my birthday at Old MacDonald's.* I'd like to invite you to my birthday!"
That's his latest thing. He wants to invite everyone he knows to his birthday party (which will be next month). EVERYONE. Today in the car, he told me that he wants to go see the woman who cuts his hair, so that he can invite her to his birthday party.
It will be our first "kid" party. And we have one very excited little boy!
-----------------------------------------------------------
* Yes, that's what he calls McDonald's. And yes, that's where we're having his party. I know, I know. Not the kind of food I like to serve my child. But try to arrange a reasonably priced party for children (and this is for March in upstate NY... it has to be an indoor thing) where kids can run and climb and slide and be kids... hence, a meal and sliding at McD's...

Stay away from the Rat...I mean Chuck..e.. Cheese... ugh.

Awww.. how cute is that? And I'll bet the kids would love McDonald's salads. ;)

What time should we be there? Seriously, the kids never eat the food anyway. They just run around like crazy and then we give them birthday cake! My next door neighbors are the McDonnells, an the CP used to call her Old McDonald.

Yeah, Elle. I thought about that. It's more expensive & there's probably less to do there for 4-year olds. At least at our ChuckE's!
Kristi, I don't even know if I like their salads! I tried their soup last time I was there... very salty and mediocre. But I figure they can't screw up grilled cheese and apple slices!
Sarcasmom, He'd LOVE to see you & the CP there. You're right about the food. What they really want to do is run around! I love the Old McDonald thing!!

Old McDonald. That is soooo cute. Funny how our babies are now real 'kids' now. Lyndon and I were only saying that last night about our Monet. She isn't even remotely close to being a toddler any more. She's a KID. Can Monet and I come over? We'd love to attend! *heehee*

Oh it's not going to kill them to have it once or twice. It's his birthday. The fact that you're doing anything in the dead of this freakish winter...I say kudos to you!

I hope he has a great party. He sounds like a happy and friendly child. Outsourcing parties is so much easier than hosting them at your home.

that's what my 2 1/2 year old calls McD's too. Sounds like my son. I hope the old ladies and old men have fun on the slides :)
