Since before the holidays, I've been on a purging frenzy. Purses I'll never use again have gone to Goodwill. Books and videos have been donated to the library. Piles of little boy clothes have been passed on or donated. Piles and piles and piles of my own clothes are gone too. Either they don't fit or they're so outdated I decided to move them on.
Which leads me to my current predicament. I have close to nothing to wear. What I do have is not the least bit stylish, and apparently the jeans I wear are "Mom jeans." Yeah, I'm in the 40-plus crowd and fit the bill. But I guess it would be nice to have one pair of pants that are a touch more stylish and flattering.
So. All you hip non-Mom-jeans people... where do you shop? What do you look for? I'm not looking for a whole new wardrobe. I'm usually at home! I'd just like an outfit that's not quite so frumpy for my 42-year-old self...

I have found relatively cool jeans at Old Navy. As for the rest of my wardrobe, you don't want to take advice from me -- with those jeans go long-sleeve tee-shirts from Target.

If you read my post from today, you will know that I am NOT the one to ask. I only have two pairs of jeans that fit at the moment, and both are most definitely "mom jeans."

Like all old ladies, I get my jeans at Coldwater Creek or I get Levi's from wherever. I like the new Levis 512's with the tummy minimizer.
Oh, and for Coldwater, I wait for sales. There stuff is overpriced!

I haven't bought new jeans in awhile, but the last pair of Gap jeans I bought fit nicely. I also second the nod to Old Navy.

Well, I can only shop a few places because I'm tall, (5'10") and not many places sell 'tall' jeans. However, the places that seem to have a great selection is Gap and Old Navy because they have short, average and tall. If you want to spend a little more money, Nordstrom has a great selection, too. Eddie Bauer has great jeans, too. They have different waists, lenghts and styles. You can order from all of them online, too.

I've had prety good luck at Marshall's. I've been trying to purge the closet of Mom jeans over the past year or so. Now I need to purge the Mom jeans-shorts (if there is such a thing - oh wait, apparently there is - I have them!)

We are at that in-between age. ( and I include myself even though I have 10 years on you). Too old for the junior dept. and too young for the "woman's world' dept.

The Gap or Old Navy usually have a pretty wide variety of stuff. Gap will have plenty of reasonably stylish "office casual" level clothes, as well non "mom" jeans. Old Navy more of the jeans level....

I like jeans from Old Navy as well. Here's a hint - I know it might be freaky to some, but check Goodwill and Salvation Army first for certain brands. You're only paying $3-5 for them!
Just make sure you get what you want. I made the mistake of getting LOW rise jeans...not a good choice.

I'll have to check out the suggestions. I need new jeans as well... I thought it was funny that gmail had this ad up:
