"I'm sorry. I'm going to have to reschedule. My son is sick and I have to take him to the doctor's office."
Me: "Of course, of course... I hope he feels better soon."
... and there went my first attempt to get together with another preschool Mom and her son.
My heart sank a little as that was the only special thing I'd planned for the day. I checked a web site for children's activities in the area and decided on a spur-of-the-moment trip to a local mansion's gingerbread house exhibit.
I'm glad we went. And I think we might have to make it a tradition...

They're beautiful! Sounds like a terrific backup plan.

I am always amazed at these creations...HOW do they do it? I have tried more than once, and my houses just fall down. I'm the gingerbread house slum lord!!! (I'm sure that' probably not a PC thing to say, so I apologize if anyone has a problem with that.)
Aren't you a tiny bit glad you went, even though you missed out on the mom thing?

They do one every year at a place called Peddlars Village, about 45 minutes from me. YOu can't get that close to them though. I is amazing what some people can do wth cookie dough.

Oh my goodness. But were you there saying every two minutes "Don't touch!!"? I know I would've been. I get paranoid.
