Here's one I won't forget
Have you ever read a post that's really stuck with you?
I have. It's been a few weeks, but I haven't been able to get this one by Hula Doula out of my mind.
It's incredibly inspirational and incredibly sad, at the same time. Inspirational because it makes you pause to thank God that there are decent, strong people in the world willing to step out of their comfort zones for the good of others. Hula is clearly one of those people. An angel. A hero. I didn't read her site regularly til I stumbled upon this particular post one day (via Michele's weekly Meet & Greet). Now, I check for updates every day.
Her story is sad, too, as you'll see. It's a reminder that there are innocent children in the world who are mistreated every day. Of course they don't deserve it. It's heart-breaking. You'll see what I mean when you read Hula's story.
I've submitted Hula's story as a Perfect Post for February. I doubt I'm the only one who will be pointing people there today.
You hear so much about all the crappy things people do. Isn't it good to hear about someone doing good? And this is way beyond a good deed. This took some serious strength and courage.
Are you still here reading this? Go! Go read Hula's story!
Hat's off to Hula Doula... thank goodness you were there!
And for other February Perfect Post winners, be sure to visit Petroville and Suburban Turmoil.

Thanks Marie. What a truly compelling story. i wonder what i would have done.

Isn't she a wonderful person. Thanks for sharing that with us Marie. Like Sarcasmom, I wonder what I would have done in the same situation...

To all interested moms out there:
I would like to invite you to participate in a research study of parenting views and practices. Dr. Kim White-Mills and Dr. Catherine Dobris of IUPUI (both are moms) are interested in understanding what sources parents find useful in their parenting practices, how parents use different parenting information, and what views parents across the county hold regarding parenting issues.
To access this survey, go to http://www.iupui.edu/~momviews/

What a story. Thanks for bringing our attention to Hula's story. It made me hug Isabella a little more tightly today.

Whoa . . .tears are running down my cheeks reading that story. She was very brave to intervene, and thank goodness she decided to report that mother. Those poor, poor children . . .life is sometimes so unfair to the most defenseless. It breaks my heart to read stuff like this.
