I'm sitting here eating a bowl of my usual Kashi cereal, with fresh local strawberries and yogurt. Yum. Yum. Yum.
And you know what? This combination is reminding me of Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries. (Wow! They've been around since 1967, according to the Cap'n's FAQs!)
I ate a LOT of sugared cereal as a kid. Crunch Berries. Frosted Flakes. Quisp -- which was only out for a short time -- it's on-the-box character was a little alien-type guy, and the cereal was shaped like little saucers - spaceships, I guess. [UPDATE: Hey, I just googled Quisp! And it's available in some cities.]
Then there were Body Buddies. I don't think they were around for long, and they must have been a healthier variety, with less sugar, because I remember not liking them! But my sister and I were on a mission. They had an offer for a free spoon, engraved with your first name, and for each spoon you had to send in so many Body Buddies Box Bottoms. So, even though we didn't like them, we ate them so that we could each get a free spoon.
Now I stand in the cereal aisle looking at nutritional information, and I stay away from the sugary cereals. I go for fiber now, and low sodium -- for the whole family.
But it would be fun to have a bowl of Froot Loops now and then!
What's your favorite cereal?
What cereal did you eat as a kid?

I was a strange kid (go figure). I never liked sugary cereals, so my mom had to buy two boxes, one for my sister who did, and another box for me. My favorite cereal is probably Special K (don't laugh!) or Rice Krispies. And as a kid, as most do, I ate lots and lots of Cheerios.

I went through a serious Product 19 phase, Kristi... til they made it "new and improved." Why do they try to improve perfection?! So no, I wouldn't laugh at Special K or snap, crackle, pop!!!

My favorite cereal is Golden Grahams, but I hardly ever have them! WHen I buy some, hubby eats them as a snack, right out of the box.
As a kid, I loved Frosted Flakes or Cap'n Crunch. What is it that tears up the roof of your mouth with that one?

Well, I loved Cap'n Crunch, original, and Quisp - loved anything to do with Science Fiction. Also, saw a special on breakfast cereals last week and there is a web site where you can order Quisp - wonders never cease. Now, I eat Cheerois or Shredded Wheat - yum!

Super Sugar Crisp. With the bear on the box. I just bought some a few weeks ago and they're already gone.

Nat,
It's all that hardened sugar... Little known fact, but you can also use Cap'n Crunch as a weapon!
Caryl,
You can order it from Quisp.com too -- how about that?
Lass,
I remember that -- that would be gone in a few days here! That's why we can't have it in the house. Sugar junkies that we are.

Marie,
I still eat Froot Loops and do so proudly. I am also a Cap'n Crunch fanatic but the kids like Cinnamon Life. Hey, how old is Mikey now anyway?

Cereal is my favorite food. I can't pick just one -- I like Cheerios, Oatmeal Crisp, Wheaties, granola...
As a kid I loved Cap'n Crunch, Apple Jacks, Fruity Pebbles, Cookie Crisp, Quisp, King Vitamin. (Confession: I still eat Apple Jacks as a treat from time to time.)

I eat Kashi, actually. I also like Cheerios, Wheaties, anything that's not too sweet.
My kids like Cinnamon life.

Not much of a cereal fan here. I really went off cereal when I was pregnant... However, sometimes I do crave Coco-Pops or Weetbix. As a child, my mum only bought us Cornflakes which are so bland in flavour which is probably why I am not a big cereal eater as an adult. Yeah, blame it on my mum!
