Imagine this...
Imagine that your keyboard's spacebar squeaks.
Do you realize how often you use the spacebar? When it squeaks, you realize that you use it a LOT. A whole lot. And when you type quickly, as I do, the squeaks are almost constant. Gaaaaah!
MaybeIshouldtypewithoutusingthespacebar. DoyousupposethatwouldbeOK? Wow. That wasn't easy to do!
I doubt you can use WD40 on a computer keyboard. Anyone?
Anyway.
It's a positively gorgeous day. We're having a spell of very nice spring weather here in NY. It's been great.
My lawn-obsessed neighbor has her back yard staked out, like it's a crime scene. There are posts and CAUTION tape everywhere. One of the areas staked out is quite large -- like a swimming pool could go there. The other day I asked if they were planning for a new pond. Because they're into upgrading everything -- they're on their second pond now after a year with what was apparently a too-small pond. She rolled her eyes, and said no, the stakeout was for "patching" the lawn. She rolled her eyes because it's her partner who's the lawn-obsessed one. We tease back and forth -- there's plenty of fodder in both directions.
Now, within the staked out area, there are patches of straw and sprinkler heads. Their front yard is nicer than my carpeting. So lush and green.
Us? We can't seem to grown grass. We try, but with all the trees on our street, our front yard doesn't get much sun. Or something. I'm sure the lawn-obsessed neighbor cringes when she looks at our yard. Since we're right next door.
I bet she cringes the way I'm cringing with this eff-ing spacebar!

My back yard gets no sun due to a huge tree. I think I have about a dozen blades of grass in the yard. I'm about to till up the whole thing and try to re-plant. But after 10 hours on Sunday just on flower beds, I'm not looking forward to doing a whole back yard.

Haha... yeah if you really listen to the space bar it's crazy, I type crazy fast too... where can I buy a squeeking space bar? That would really annoy my co-workers!

Ya know Marie... new keyboards are actually pretty cheap! Worth the sanity you'd save.
Yes, the lawn thing is strange, isn't it? My husband is pretty obsessed, to the point of shooeing the dog WAY out back past the lush part of our back yard into the "natural grass" area, whenever she needs to do her business. Poor thing, she's just trying to take a nice leisurely crap, and there's my husband hissing "go on! keep going!" at her. Every morning.

Lawns (the yard as I call it) are very special things. Shade caused by trees are blamed (poor trees) but really it is the moisture they suck away from the grass. Well here in the south anyway.
Obsessed, not me, I can point out the grass in our yard. Anyone could, its just some brown patches. The weeds, yes, well they are doing very nicely this year, super green & very tall. Thank you

I'd go pick all the white-headed dandelions I could find, then go blow them all onto her lawn under cover of darkness.
Well, I suppose I wouldn't. But I'd' want to.

Hey I'd do it for you, Blue Mama. lol. Lawn obsessers are both endearing and kinda annoying. I figure rain, sunshine, and the occasional mowing by the local teen is enough, right?

Just pop the space bar off... and see if there is anything down there causing the squeak... give me an email if you want more info... I'll even show you pictures if you want on how to do this.

Oooo I do like a lush green lawn... I'm not much of a gardener myself so I like to admire lovely gardens. Living in an apartment kinda solves the issues I have with having a garden.
Go and treat yourself to a new keyboard! I dare you...

Um, that comment above mine is...weird.
Anyway, we have lawn envy ourselves. Our neighbors across the street have this pristine, green lawn, while ours looks patchy, brown, and gross. Sigh...

Your squeaky spacebar and my sticking delete key should get together for a drink. Green lawns are overrated. hehe
