Funny thing about blog fodder -- when I'm busy, there's so much fodder in my head, it's spilling out my ears. When I actually have a little time to blog, do I have fodder? Anyway, it's spilling out my head right now. Let's see how much I can type while Bob the Builder is on tv.
Boudicca at Boudicca's Voice has been talking bras lately and recently went with VW to get herself fitted by a "specialist" at Victoria's Secret. I come from a family of very small-chested women, so it's always interesting to hear from women who actually have breasts.
It's really not a big deal for me to go without a bra; I think I wear one out of habit and just to be neater. And by neat, I mean presentable in cooler temperatures.
One of my sisters is anti-bra, and as with me, it's not a big deal. Except when she's wearing something where a protrusion might show through on a cool day. She teaches young adults and is mindful that going without may be a distraction to the young men in her classes. So she's found a work-around. Here's her solution. Yes, that's right. 2 of these and she's good to go. A lot more economical and comfortable than a bra, wouldn't you say? For her bridal shower I found her some glittery, sparkly band-aids, suitable for use with a wedding dress. You can find them for any occasion, really. Just test the stickiness on some not-as-sensitive skin before you put them to work...
Bou mentions a bra that sells for $40 at VS. Whoa. $40. I just spent less than half that on a pair of jeans. But that's another story. I think you can get a box of band-aids for under 2 bucks... Hey! What a great stocking stuffer!

$40 at Victoria's Secret? Anybody who NEEDS a bra is paying $35 at WALMART. I can't even shop at VS or anyplace like that...their flimsy little contraptions won't hold up.
And I'm unaware of any studies linking wearing bras to getting cancer. I know that not wearing them causes debilitating back-aches--and that the aluminum in underarm deodorant has been linked to Alzheimers...but cancer? Wow. I guess I'll just have to risk it.
Nice to meet you!
