This particular tree is the first to turn each Fall on my street. First to turn, and first to shed its leaves. I've been watching it for days. We've had some wet weather, and no one really wants to walk through soggy leaves. Yesterday was perfect though; the sun was out, and the leaves appeared to be dry and crunchy. I headed out to crunch through them -- ahh! It sounds and smells like Fall and Halloween. My son wasn't walking last Fall, but this year he can walk through the leaves. Back and forth, and back and forth he goes. There's something so satisfying about walking through crunchy leaves... no matter your age.

Great pictures, Marie! Fall is my favorite time of year here. It really is beautiful. So many of the trees on my street are still green though.

What lovely pictures! We don't really have an autumn quite like that here in Sacramento. We need to drive a bit to the Sierra's to see true color. The reds and oranges in your photos are gorgeous!

This is what I miss living in South Florida. Crunchy leaves.

Love the crunch, the look, the smell, and how it feels when you jump in the pile.
