Last night:
me: Is tomorrow the day your mother's coming?
hubby: I don't know -- is it?
me: I think that's what you told me a while ago.
This a.m.... 8:00ish:
Brrrrrring!
me: Hello?
mother-in-law: Hi, it's me. I'm at the train station. The train is running a little behind schedule.
---------------------
Off to clean a bathroom!!
Oh, I know some of you have Girl Scout cookies. I need a box... NOW!

Oh my Gosh- your title just brought me back to Ally McBeal (during the years she show was actually good). Remember John "pre-flushing" the toilet in the unisex bathroom because he "liked a freah bowl"? LOL
Have fun with your mother-in-law!

hehehehehe. I liked the dismount better....
Thank God my MiL is too far away for a casual train ride. Or my mother for that matter....

Yikes! Hope you're surviving the visit. :)
Sending you girl scout cookies....mentally, at least!

OK, now I'm gonna have to pull out my old Ally tapes and watch 'em!
Caltechgirl,
:-) ... for my hubby & his Mom, all visits are very casual... even though it's a 5-hour ride. And actually, I wouldn't put it past my mother to jet in from Florida for her grandson's 1st birthday! I don't think I'll say that too loudly... she may appear!
Tammy,
THANKS! and Thin Mints!!?? My favorites.

Any chance that this could turn out to be a "nice" visit? I have had both good and really bad, so I'm sending positive vibes just in case they help.
:)

Oh, hope it goes OK. Perhaps you weren't sure of the date because you didn't want it to be true? ;)

Oh yeah, it'll be nice... I always appreciate the help. And it's my son's birthday this week! I just like to know the plans because I like to have my house in better shape than it was in today. Amazing what you can get done with a short deadline though... :-)

I know how you feel. My in-laws live about 6 hours away, and thank goodness they visit often---my house never gets as clean as it is when they are about to arrive.
