The Pounds Are Melting Away - I Can Just Feel It!
Today begins Day 3 of Weight Watchers. Yesterday, I awoke feeling incredibly svelte. OK, that may be a slight exaggeration, but I did feel different. Maybe it was just psychological. At any rate, it's a start!
I do find myself feeling hungry a lot. I think my body is in shock, saying "What? That's all we're having?!" For instance, I just finished my 4-point breakfast of cereal with milk, and a cup of tea and still feel hungry. I get 22 points per day, which isn't a heck of a lot. I usually make pretty healthy choices, but I'm used to a lot MORE of everything.
When you start Weight Watchers, you realize just how small 1 cup is. 1 cup of pasta... 1 cup of milk... Even after 1 1/2 cups of pasta the other night, I was still hungry. I love milk and am used to having at least a couple tall glasses of skim milk per day, but not now! Not at 2 points per cup.
Then there's the lack of sweet treats. I think that's why I'm getting headaches. Well, it's probably that, plus hunger. My body is in detox mode. I need to get to the store for some low-point treats for myself. Yesterday I joined my son for a teething biscuit. At only 1 point a pop, it was fairly satisfying! I'll have to find an adult equivalent, so I don't eat all my baby's food. I can see him on a therapist's couch some day... I think my problems go back to the time my mother ate all my teething biscuits.
Time for another cuppa tea. 0 points and mmm mmmm good!

Congratulations! And contunued success! I need to get back on the wagon I fell off... we are going to San Antonio & Dallas in 3 weeks & I would really like to fit into my summer clothes... I haven't worn them since 2003. I am kind of looking forward to it...

Good for you. Try mixing up the types of tea, add some fruitier teas, some green tea, etc. that ought to help a little with your sweets craving.

I HIGHLY recommend Carb Smart fudge pops (not the ice cream bars).
They are only 100 calories and sugar free.
And they taste very, very chocolatey. I'm so picky, but these really satisfy me. I eat one a day for 2 points (and I only have 20 to work with . . .).
Well, well worth it.

Jody,
Have fun on your trip! Now there's a little motivation... thinking of summer clothes! I need to drop 10 before I start visualizing that...
CTG,
Oh yeah. I'm queen of tea. I have a heaping basket of every kind of tea on the planet. Good that I like the stuff! :-)
Anita,
I'll have to look for those! Thanks for the tip! I tried a Pria bar yesterday, which wasn't bad.

Yay Marie! That's awesome. Rich has been doing South Beach since January and has lost over 30 pounds. I really admire you for doing this. :)

Congratulations! Weight Watchers is such a great diet. I lost about 17 pounds on it in 1989, and it changed my eating habits permanently. The first couple of weeks are a tough adjustment, but it's all worth it, as you can see, when the pounds start melting away.

Good luck, I'm doing WW too. If you want a filling meal for a minimum of points then pop over to my blog and try the Stoo recepie and there's a Pointless Jam (Jelly) there too which may help the sweet thing craving.

One of my friends in on WW, and she said there's some kind of chocolate bar (like a candy bar) that is 1 point and scrumptious. Now I don't know, but I would tend to believe her. It's a Weight Watchers brand treat. Maybe that will help some!
