The Last Supper
Yep, that's what this weekend will be for me. I've decided it's time to get back on the Weight Watchers band wagon. This weekend, there will be chocolate in the house though, so I'm officially starting after Valentine's Day. So this is my last hoorah, so to speak. At least as far as the gluttony goes.
I've had success with the program in the past and even became a lifetime member years ago. However, I'm a lifetime member flunkie, because I gained my weight back (& then some) and stopped going to the meetings.
My goal? To lose approximately 30 pounds by my 40th birthday, which is about 6 months away. (September 1st) I'm hoping that 5 lbs/month is doable... I don't want to just get it off; I want to get it off and keep it off for good. I have an almost 1-year old baby who is keeping me hopping, and I want to be able to chase him around without lugging around the extra weight. So, it is time. I will report on my progress here and will appreciate any & all encouragement!
I'm inspired by Anita's first week success on WW. She's sharing the actual numbers with her readers. I have to say that I'm too darn embarrassed to do that! Let's just say that losing 30 pounds will put me at a reasonable weight for someone my height, 5'6".
If you'll excuse me, I have a little chocolate to savor this evening. Parting will be such sweet sorrow... but, it'll be worth it.

Welcome to the club, Marie! I'm almost 40 pounds down with a whole lot more than that to go, but it's working. Do stay for meetings if it's at all possible; it does make a difference.

Congratulations to you Karen!! That is quite an accomplishment! You must be very proud. I'll know where to go for inspiration.. :-) Actually, I'm going to do WW online this time; we'll see how it goes without the in-person meetings. I know some people who've been very successful doing it online. I'll let you know how it goes!

Another welcome from me :) I started WW 3 weeks ago. If you're interested there's a couple of recipes on my blog. Look for the entries titled Stoo and Pointless Jam, and forgive me if the conversions aren't quite up to scratch, sometimes it's hard to remember all the terms you guys over the pond use :\

Yeah! I'm so excited that we'll be doing it together. Your goals sound very reasonable so I know you'll do it. We'll do it together. Today is going to be hard for me. I have all my flex points saved up though so hopefully I can splurge a bit tonight at Rooney's. But I am foregoing dessert. See, it is here in actual writing.

Thanks Kitty! I'll have to check out your recipes! I'm munching on carrots & grape tomatoes as I type here...
It's official, Anita! I just signed up. Skipping dessert at Rooney's... I AM impressed!

Yeah, Marie! We'll do it together.
Just so you know, on WW Online, my username is SkiAddict. I like the Less to Lose forum over there. The people are pretty nice and give lots of great tips.

Oh, and I did skip dessert. I used 26 flex points for the dinner . . .we'll see how that works for me on Friday morning. I have faith.

Anita,
OK! I haven't played with the WW site much yet (haven't had the computer when I've wanted it), but I will definitely check out the forums soon. I am SO impressed that you skipped dessert! That took serious willpower.
