One of the benefits of working out of my home is that I can work in my pajamas if I want to. I say that, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually done it.
However, today was one of those days.
I didn't feel well but had work to do, so after showering, I put my pajamas on and sat down at my computer with a nice hot cup of tea. It was cold and snowy outside, and I didn't have any meetings that required me to be in the office. So, this morning, I conducted business in my pajamas. Phonecalls, e-mails, the usual... but no one knew! A high-speed Internet connection is a beautiful thing. In fact, I had no reason to get out of my pajamas til my 5 p.m. hair appointment. So after working through the morning, I fed my little boy lunch, played with him, and read to him in my pjs.
Then it happened.
It was time for my son's afternoon nap. I was still in my pajamas, with the wood stove keeping the living room nice and toasty. And the library book I picked up the other day was sitting on the table. Not one of the Mommy Manuals I'm usually reading, to find out what foods to introduce or how to save my baby if he chokes... no, not my usual reading... I had an actual novel to read for pleasure. I snuggled into the couch, in my pjs, under a blanket, with a cup of hot cocoa and the warmth of the wood stove, and my book.
Ahhhhhhhh.
I had about an hour of absolute bliss. And I savored it. No work, no phone, no tv...radio... computer... No one needing anything from me.
I knew that my son would wake up, and my husband would come home, and that I'd have to put on real clothes to go to my hair appointment.
But that hour was heaven-sent.

An hour like that is indeed my idea of heaven.

OH YES!! Nothing is better than curling up with a book and a blankie. Glorious!

Suzanne,
I had another few minutes of this heaven this evening!
Jody,
Yep... I think I'm headed to the couch for more, shortly! Though in the evening I'm lucky if I can keep my eyes open past 9:30!
Karin,
Thanks!!!
BGM,
Thank goodness I didn't miss the appointment! I had already rescheduled it once, and my hair had officially reached mop status!
