100 things about me

1. I turned 40 in September 2005
2. I can’t believe it – seems like 30 was yesterday.
3. I’ve been married since 2002.
4. We met on a blind date.
5. I’ve been on more blind dates than I care to remember!
6. My husband is a sensitive, loving, and handy guy.
7. We have a sweet baby boy who was born in March 2004.
8. I love being a mom.
9. I was a very creative child.
10. I played with Barbies all the time.
11. My aunt was concerned when I wanted a "man doll" (Ken).
12. My aunt was a nun.
13. Molded plastic does nothing for me, really.
14. The only thing I wanted for my 5^th birthday was a Mrs. Beasley doll.
15. I got one and still have her.
16. I was an early bloomer.
17. I towered over my friends and cousins when I was 11 years old.
18. I’m 5’6".
19. I love the ocean.
20. I love to swim.
21. We went camping every summer when I was a kid.
22. We always went to the Jersey shore (Ocean City, Sea Isle City).
23. I love riding bikes on the boardwalk.
24. I’ve traveled to most of the lower 48 states in the US.
25. I was too young to remember much of it.
26. I’ve seen some great slides with me in them though!
27. I’ve lived in NY state my whole life.
28. I traveled to Europe in 1990 with my sister.
29. We chiseled at the Berlin wall.
30. We walked around in East Berlin (cool, but spooky).
31. We heard & saw Roger Waters of Pink Floyd rehearsing for The Wall at The Wall concert.
32. I’m the middle of 3 girls.
33. Neither of my sisters lives in my city, and I wish they did!
34. I’m aunt to 5 sweetie-pies.
35. I have naturally curly hair.
36. I hated that as a kid.
37. I like it now.
38. But I don’t like the gray that’s creeping in.
39. I sometimes highlight to hide the gray.
40. My husband hates that I have chemicals put on my head.
41. I’m a Virgo and seem to fit the profile.
42. I majored in math in college.
43. I’ve always enjoyed writing, too.
44. I’ve written many thrilling technical training manuals.
45. OK, they’re probably not exactly page-turners.
46. Since I started blogging, I've been reading a lot more books than I used to.
47. A favorite book was Wally Lamb’s I Know This Much Is True.
48. I love reference books.
49. I love maps.
50. As kids we’d fight over who got to hold the map while we were traveling.
51. Yes, I guess I’m kind of a geek.
52. I’ve never had a pet of any kind.
53. I know that people get attached to their pets, but I’ve never experienced that.
54. I don’t enjoy shopping malls much any more.
55. I prefer stand-alone shopping centers, where I can get in & out quickly.
56. After baby-sitting, my first high school job was working at Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips.
57. I went home smelling like peanut oil every night.
58. My husband wants to have a car that runs on peanut oil.
59. If he knew me as a teenager, I probably could have gotten him a lifetime supply of used peanut oil.
60. I worked as a disc jockey when I was in college.
61. I dj-ed at a bar that contained a replica of half a boat.
62. My college roomie and I won best roommates award and "most interesting room" award.
63. I wasn’t allowed to go to parties as a teenager, but I was allowed to go to concerts.
64. I went to a LOT of concerts when I was in high school.
65. Apparently my parents didn’t know what people do at concerts.
66. I was a good kid… though I did have to inhale and exhale while I was at the concerts.
67. My friends and I waited for hours to meet Jackson Browne after a show.
68. We got his autograph – boy was he shorter than I thought he’d be.
69. I’ve always been very into music – listening, playing (clarinet), singing.
70. I LOVE the music of Alison Krauss & Union Station (bluegrass).
71. I like country music too. (Don’t laugh at me!)
72. My father was a school principal when I was growing up.
73. Thankfully we didn’t go to his school.
74. We got to play in the gymatorium at his school sometimes though.
75. I’m a chocolate fiend.
76. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip.
77. Especially when it’s covered with hot fudge sauce.
78. As kids, my sisters and I spoke French around the house to irritate our parents.
79. They didn’t understand what we were saying.
80. Mostly, we were just reciting textbook dialogs.
81. Yeah, we were such rebels.
82. I love Indian food.
83. The first time I tried it, I didn’t enjoy it; though I enjoyed the tea since it tasted like Froot Loop milk.
84. I love doing anything outdoors, even yardwork.
85. OK, maybe not anything. I’m not into competitive sports.
86. I suck at team sports; you wouldn’t want me on your team – trust me!
87. I tried soccer and softball as a kid; they tried to keep me where the ball was least likely to go.
88. I enjoy hiking and riding my bike though.
89. I was raised Catholic but haven’t been a practicing Catholic in many years.
90. I’d like to find a church for my family to attend now though.
91. I’m as Irish as they come.
92. So yes, I like beer… but not too excess.
93. I prefer wine these days though.
94. I’ve always been registered as an independent voter.
95. I leaned Left before 9/11… no longer though.
96. I drove my last car for 13 years.
97. Now I drive a sporty family-mobile with 4-wheel drive. It rocks.
98. I don’t see much of anything without my glasses/contacts.
99. I have a large collection of cookbooks.
100. I have completed a "100 things about me" list!

Exelent.... when un " avarage " human beeing is so deep in expression its ( hers his ) inner self, and finds so many small details, which make us like we are...jolly good job, specialy because I havwe a feeling it was your free e`xpression, without trying to impress anybody- it was just YOU.
