Just a speck on the 'sphere

I went and got myself some blog space! Ta Da!  Here I am... just another speck on the blogosphere.

Hi, I'm Marie. I'm a practical, no-nonsense kinda gal -- most of the time. Oh, I do like the occasional pedicure, and I've had my hair highlighted a couple times, but I'm generally a low maintenance woman. What? No suchofathing? Have you been talking to my husband?  Actually, I think he knows he's lucky. I'm pretty darn lucky too. I have a wonderful husband and an adorable baby boy. We live in our cozy bungaloo in western NY.

It's 2005 now -- I'll turn 40 this year. Maybe you've been there? or will be hitting there soon?  30 was no biggee for me; in fact I threw a big party and the actual day was a blast. That milestone didn't feel as big... maybe it's that 40 is half way to 80. (Yeah, but 30 was half way to 60. )

I'm kind of a numbers girl - a grid-head. But please don't hold that against me.  I'm a sappy new Mom too. I've had fun lurking & commenting here and there on the blogosphere, so I figured it was time to put up my own little tent.

I read somewhere that your first post should be lame. And since I don't want to break with tradition, I'll end here before I say something that might cause you to laugh, snort, or otherwise ponder the meaning of life.

You will find that as things happen during your daily life you will think to yourself, "I am SO going to blog about that!" Sometimes the mundane stuff I blog about gets the most comments. It's funny.

Been there done that with 40--several years ago in fact. I finally felt like a grown-up. It was very freeing, to tell the truth. I mean, who cares anymore if I go the supermarket in sweats with no makeup?
