No I'm not talking about the game... our day is yet to come with that one.
I'm talking about a photo I got in the mail yesterday. I don't usually have pictures of myself laying around, because I take most of the still shots around here. Yesterday I got some pictures in the mail from one of my sisters. One features a few of us hanging out after the Christmas day festivities. And when I say hanging out...
We were lounging after an evening of games at the dining room table. I posed by taking a seat on my husband's lap. I was with family, so I had changed into loungewear - some very festive flannel pajamas in fact. Ones covered with candycanes. Very attractive. Looking at this picture, it's hard to believe that that's the me who was once an aerobics junkie.
Is this what I've let life in the 'burbs do to me? Turn me into a beached candycane-decorated whale? I will say that we look darn happy in the picture. I like that. I bet I'd still be happy if I shed a little weight. Even happier probably!
If it weren't for chocolate, OK all foods containing sugar, I'd be much better off. I can control portions of other things. Why don't I go through bags of baby carrots the way I go through Dove chocolate morsels?
Wouldn't you know, I'm sitting here munching on a candycane as I write this...
I wonder if Oprah's chef and trainer make housecalls?

My sympathies are with you oh-candy-cane-covered one. Whoever came up with the idea of turning cacao beans into chocolate is either a saint or a devil. I haven't quite decided which yet.

Sometimes, you just have to go for a long walk.
....before the next cane.

Thank you for your comment, Tortoise! You are right. I hope we can draw you out of your shell; I'll look forward to more words of wisdom from you...

Anita, I am thinking of growing a cacao plant (is that what the beans grow on?), you know, for fun... I'll let you know when it's time to harvest!

Marie! I always think that about myself in pics. Which is why I am a.) mostly the photographer or b.)mostly cropped in full body pictures.
Ha. Damn you holidays!
